DR. BROOKS THOME
Dr. Brooks Thome is a licensed marriage and family therapist (Lic.# MFC 52008) and holds a specialty credential as a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT). His practice focuses primarily on individual, couples, and family therapy to treat a variety of clinical conditions including but not limited to anxiety, depression/mood disorders, relationship issues, personality disorders, trauma/Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and sexually addictive and compulsive behaviors (e.g., multiple affairs, internet pornography, etc.). Dr. Thome received specialty training and certification under leading sex addiction treatment expert, Dr. Patrick Carnes, which allows him to provide comprehensive treatment for sex addiction as well as treatment for the loved ones affected by this condition. The CSAT certification is widely regarded by mental health professionals to be the most reputable and effective treatment method for those suffering from sex addiction and those affected by sex addiction.
Dr. Thome completed a doctoral degree in clinical psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA and a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Western Seminary in Sacramento, CA. He has over 9 years of experience treating individuals, couples, and families in private practice, community counseling center, community mental health, and adult psychiatric settings. Most recently, he completed an APA-accredited doctoral internship at Cornerstone Counseling Center of Chicago before training as a post-doctoral resident at Kaiser Permanente in the department of adult psychiatry. His treatment is informed by the latest research in the fields of psychology and marriage and family therapy. He is a member of the Society of the Advancement of Sexual Health, International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals, and the American Psychological Association.
